I finished an old drawing that was forgotten at the bottom of my folder ୧꒰*´꒳`*꒱૭✧

One of my relatives asked for a Ryuko drawing since she doesn't have much representation (⑉ ᷄ ⌳ ᷅ )ก

I really enjoyed this one! However for some reason the file was absolutely massive

I have no idea how or why that happened, but I had to download the photo since it wouldn't let me open it without crashing and finish it from there (˶> <˶)

Sorry if the quality is poor! I'm just glad I was able to salvage it (〃´∀`)

My Hero Academia AU: I Know How It Works

An Ambush Simulation Sequel. Minor trigger warning for self-deprecating PTSD references.

Legend has it Mr. Compress still can't find his way out of the woods. But give him credit for calling for help even though he knew Dabi was probably gonna be an ass about it.

Aizawa was my favorite part of drawing this one.  Dabi may not be a villain in this AU, but he’s still an exhausting person to deal with, and the job seems to have been once again delegated to the usual crazy person wrangler.

If you missed Part 1 of Ambush Simulation and are confused about the orange fire instead of the blue, Dabi has gone and turned the temp down for the purposes of not being identified.

The relative humidity and the soil moisture are both factors that affect forest fires. Happy, hydrated plants don't burn easily.

There is also a method to the madness behind the forest fire aside from scare tactic.  After UA’s summer camp, the Wild, Wild Pussycats are planning on hosting a class on forest restoration after wildfires for people with plant-based Quirks.  So they were planning on burning part of the forest down anyway.

it was time for me to draw Ryukyu again cause i love giant aunt dragon, she has 3 forms, normal size, half dragon and full dragon, yes i think her half and full dragon form is a little bigger then mt lady

Minor costume adjustments/ Forgot I drew this Ryukyu

[Image description: Ryukyu in casual clothes and a redesigned costume. The costume is made up of spiked crimson thigh-high boots and armored gloves with a red tunic/dress slit up to the hip on both sides. The front of the tunic is emblazoned with a golden trim, and a logo which looks like three slashes from a set of claws across her chest. Her headpiece made of asymmetrical red spikes framing one eye while her hair falls over the other. The boots gave open toes and heels for when she transforms. Dressed casually, Ryuko is a petite but wiry woman in athletic shorts and a tank top. She has minor draconic features, frilled scales on the edges of her face and ears and scattered whitish scales dotting her shoulders. End description.]

The recent amajiki stuff makes me kinda sad that ochako was in the Designated Girl group with Nejire and not with the guy who actually has a surprising amount to bring to the table, and especially to her own arcs. Like, a lot of what comes up with him during the raid is stuff that’s very resonant with Uraraka’s own “who watches the watchmen saves the heroes” stuff and Toga’s “external pressures from expectations when help is what should be given instead” stuff.

You know what, you're absolutely right.

In the Overhaul Arc, Kirishima and Amajiki gained more confidence in themselves from Fatgum. Nighteye crafted Mirio into the hero he was up until this point. Izuku obtained new insecurities he couldn't previously fathom from working with Nighteye and Mirio.

What did Ochako gain from being in the same team as Ryukyu and Nejire in this arc? With her internship with Gunhead, Ochako gained more experience in close combat. But Ochako and Asui don't seem to learn anything crucial from Ryukyu the way the other UA students did from their mentors in this arc.

Ochako has no meaningful interactions or parallels with Nejire either. Nejire has more in common with Izuku, Bakugou, or Shouto than she does with Ochako. Her similarities with Shouto and Bakugou come down to people treating her as unapproachable because of her powerful quirk. She is also similar to Izuku in that both have an off-putting amount of interest in other people's quirks.

Ochako has more in common with Amajiki or Mirio than Nejire. Ochako and Mirio both have a similar simple, genki demeanor. They both had something to overcome (poverty versus a difficult quirk), but otherwise grew up fitting neatly within the lines of society's expectations. Amajiki and Ochako as you said have some similar philosophies on heroics in that heroes should also be saved and not all villains are beyond salvation.

But it doesn't seem like that much thought was put into it and Ochako and Nejire were just put in the designated girl group.
